The green gift A climate gift subscription

Surprise your loved ones with a gift climate subscription. For your chosen duration, we will offset the gift recipient’s CO2 emissions through effective climate protection measures in Europe. We’ll plant trees in Germany and buy away emission rights from the industry in the EU.

For your gift, you’ll do a one-time donation. The subscription ends automatically.

  • What do you get with a climate gift subscription?
    • A printable gift certificate with the recipient’s name.
    • A donation receipt in the first quarter of next year. Your donation is tax deductible in Germany and other countries that recognize our nonprofit status.
    • For the duration of the subscription, the gift recipient will receive our monthly impact report. There we report how many trees we plant and how many emission rights we’ve canceled.
  • What does the gift certificate look like?

    You’ll get a certificate styled for the type of occasion you select on the form. On it, you’ll find the name of the recipient, your own name, the start and duration of the subscription and a short explanation of ForTomorrow’s climate protection measures.

For a one-time donation of €22, your gift offsets 0.3 tonnes of CO2 emissions through:

  •  Emission rights cancelled

    We buy European emission allowances (EUAs) from the European Union’s capped carbon trading scheme. Then we cancel them, which means the rights are destroyed forever! This way, we force the big CO2 emitters like coal-fired power plants in the EU to emit less CO2. Because European emission allowances determine how much carbon emissions can be emitted in the EU. This is the most effective way to avoid emissions that we know of.

  • 0 Trees planted in Europe

    Our trees grow in new, protected forests in Germany.

    We plant mixed forests together with our partner, the German Forest Protection Association. Mixed forests have many advantages. They are much more climate-resistant, offer protection against drought, wind and disease, and promote biodiversity. Planting in Germany has the added advantage that CO2 is offset where it is emitted—so offsets are credited where they are needed.
