This nonprofit organization demonstrates how climate protection works in practice: It carries out valuable educational work, systematically removes emission allowances from the market, and plants mixed forests throughout Germany.
The reason we chose ForTomorrow is that, on the one hand, they are reforesting sustainable mixed forests in Germany—which are protected under the Federal Forest Act—that remove carbon dioxide from the air right where it is produced. Second, the platform purchases CO2 emission credits to remove them from the European market, thereby reducing new CO2 emissions. It’s a clever approach that we’re happy to support.
CO2 credits are limited—ForTomorrow buys them so that CO2-intensive companies can’t buy them. This reduces the supply and forces companies to actually reduce their emissions.

As a nonprofit organization, ForTomorrow is passionately committed to environmental protection. To promote local biodiversity, the ambitious team is reforesting mixed forests in Germany, including in Bavaria. ForTomorrow places particular emphasis on selecting tree species native to the area. All reforestation projects are supervised by experts—for example, by the renowned German Forest Conservation Association.
What particularly impressed us as a jury was that ForTomorrow enables individuals and families to simultaneously advance reforestation in Germany and the transformation of the European economy.
[The startup] helps companies and individuals offset their carbon footprint. To do this, ForTomorrow doesn’t just plant forests—it takes a much more creative approach: The company buys up emission allowances from industry, thereby forcing them to step up their own climate protection efforts.
